Admission Process

1.How to apply

    • Candidates can apply in person or by Post
    • Download the Application from the College Website
    • Send the filled in application along with D.D for RS. 100/- (to be drawn in favour of The Principal at Vijaya Bank SDM extension ujire ) to  The Principal SDM College (Autonomous), Ujire

2. Documents Required for Admission

a. From students within Karnataka
  • Transfer certificate (T.C) and Character/Conduct certificate
  • Marks card
  • Caste certificate
  • 4 passport size photographs
b. From students outside Karnataka
  • Migration certificate from the institution studied earlier
  • Eligibility certificate from Mangalore University
  • Transfer certificate (T.C) and Character Certificate
  • Marks card
  • 4 passport size photographs
c. From foreign students (Candidates can apply through online – email (principal@sdmcujire.in))
  • Valid passport, Clearance from Ministry of Foreign affairs, Marks card, Study Certificate, Eligibility Certificate from Mangalore University.

Admissions for PG Programmes

Duration: 4 Semesters ( 2 Years )


Eligibility Criteria

MSW

Pass in any bachelor degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent, with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in optionals. Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum –reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations. 

MA in JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION

Pass in any bachelor degree examination of Mangalore university or equivalent, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST Category-I candidates) in aggregate including languages and Group III subjects. Selection of candidates shall be on merit cum- reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.   

M.Sc. Physics

Pass in B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent with Physics as Major / Optional / Special subject are eligible, provided they have studied Mathematics as major/ optional/ special/ minor/ subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured a minimum of 45% (40 for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Physics / Mathematics.


M. Sc. Psychology

Pass in BA / B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent with psychology as Major / Optional / Special  subject with a minimum of 45% (40% SC/ST/Category-I Candidates)  marks in cognate subject.

M.Sc. Biotechnology

Pass in B.Sc. degree examination with Life Science subjects of Mangalore University or equivalent, provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the Major/Optional/Subsidiary subject and have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-I candidates) in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects. Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc Organic Chemistry

Pass in B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent,  with Chemistry as Optional / Major / Special subject with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the subject, provided they have studied Physics and Mathematics as Optional / Major / Special / Subsidiary subjects either at B.Sc. or at P.U.C / Higher  Secondary level.  

M.Com - (Insurance and Bank Management) M.Com 

Pass in B.Com / B.B.M. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent, with Accounting /Finance/Banking/Insurance as one of the subjects, provided they have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category-I Candidates) in aggregate including languages and Group III subjects. 

MA English

Pass in B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent with English as major/optional subject (the cognate subject), provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category – I candidates) marks in the cognate subject. Candidates who have studied English as either the first or second Language at the graduate degree level for not less than two years/four semester and candidates who have studied additional English of Mangalore University for not less than two years/four semesters are also eligible to apply provided such applicants have scored not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the examination of the subject. The marks scored in the English First or Second Language examinations or Additional English examinations would be equated with the marks of optional English (the cognate subject) as follows:

1. 60% in English First Second Language equivalent to 45% of optional English (the cognate subject).
2. 60% in Additional English is equal to 48% of optional English (the cognate subject)

MA Economics

Pass in  B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or equivalent, thereto with Economics as major/optional subject provided they have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST category – I candidates) marks in the subject.

M.Sc Statistics

Pass in B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent   with Statistics and Mathematics provided they have studied at least one of them as major/optional/special subjects and the other as minor/subsidiary subjects and have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category – I candidates) marks in Statistics and Mathematics are eligible for the programme. If the candidates with Statistics as major/optional/ subsidiary/ special subjects are not available then the graduates with Mathematics as an optional/major/special subjects may also be considered for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/category – I candidates) marks in Mathematics.

Documents Required

I. Enclose attested copies of the following certificates to the application

  1. SSLC
  2. II PUC
  3. Degree Marks Card – All Semesters
  4. 4 passport size & 2 stamp size photographs

II. The following Documents are to be submitted at the time of admission

  1. Original marks cards and other certificates
  2. A medical certificate from a Regd. Medical Practitioner not below the rank of an Asst. Surgeon
  3. Transfer and Conduct Certificates issued by the Principal of the institution last attended
  4. Migration Certificate & Provisional passing certificate [applicable to candidates from universities other than Mangalore University]
  5. Eligibility Certificate issued by the Mangalore University, in respect of candidates from outside Karnataka State.
  6. Physically challenged persons should produce Certificate from competent authority.
